Fall 2002 Playoffs

Playoff Preview

With the regular season now complete the second season gets underway. We have posted the master playoff schedule (see 'Schedule'). We also separately provide each draw which summarizes all playoff matches for a division.

The FALL 2001 playoffs are eagerly anticipated and promise to be hotly contested in all divisions. Below we provide a preview for the C league draw. This preview is only intended for discussion fodder and entertainment value. Good luck to all in their ‘Race for the Cup’.

C League

Top to bottom, C league is perhaps the most competitive, up-for-grabs division. The SHAMROCKS have all the ingredients for a championship march. They possess skilled forwards, solid defense and a strong goaltender. Their bane is inconsistency. Dr Jeckyl/Mr Hyde, what Shamrocks team will show up? On the other hand, the division’s most consistent team is the COURT OFFICERS. For what they may lack in offense talent, they more than make up for it in heart guaranteeing a 110% effort throughout the line-up. The PHANTOMS-BLACK finished the season riding Uncle Mo. Winners of 5 out of their last 7, they evidently have answered their line-up question marks and seem poised to stake their claim. The most intriguing and the sleeper team is the RED WINGS. In the familiar position of coming from the back of the pack they possess the big game, pressure experience that becomes tantamount in the playoffs. Not to be counted out the BLADERUNNERS have sipped championship wine in the past. They know how to win. Offensive, however, has proven elusive this season. To advance they must find and ride a consistent scoring threat.
