GAME D3 - CHAMPIONSHIP GAME |
The Express successfully defended their D League crown displaying their trademark bend-but-don't-break defense to frustrate the Wolf Pack's high-powered offense in a 3-1 win. Russ Christian continued his playoff heroics tallying two goals and one assist to lead to an efficient Express attack. But it was the defense anchored by the cool presence of goalie Chris Alesi that clinched the championship. In a one-sided third period dominated by the Pack, the Express repeatedly fended off all scoring attempts forcing perimeter shots and limiting rebound attempts. |

GAME D2 |
In a tense, well-played game Russ Christian's two third period goals proved to be the difference as the Express squeaked by the Mustangs 2-1. Christian's game winner came at 4:57 of the third period while the Express enjoyed a two-man advantage. The Express' trademark stingy defense anchored by goalie Chris Alesi limited the Mustang's scoring chances late in the game. This game was the third one-goal game between the squads this season fueling their budding rivalry. |
